Our Mission & Purpose

The Diocesan Athletic Conference exists to build an inclusive and competitive Christ-centered community, which fosters virtue, sportsmanship, and school spirit.

The Diocesan Athletic Council is established for the purpose of developing and maintaining consistent regulations and standards of behavior for all interscholastic sports activities within the Diocesan Interscholastic Athletic Program. The council is accountable to the Superintendent of Schools, who acting as the Bishop’s representative for school-related functions, must ratify all resolutions submitted by the Diocesan Athletic Council. DAC regulations shall not conflict with Diocesan legislation or policy.

Safe Play, Best Play

The safety of our athletes is a top priority. All Diocesan coaches must be subject to a background check prior to participating in any practices, games, or matches. All coaches are required to complete atleast two trainings prior to coaching his/her team:

  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest
  • Concussion in Sports

Welcome from the Superintendent

Dear Parents and Students,

Greetings from the Catholic Schools Office! As the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Nashville, one of my great joys is to regularly visit all of our schools in the Diocese. I am so gratified to see vibrant leadership, dedicated teachers, and hardworking students who are growing in their faith and knowledge of the wonders of God’s universe. We have beautiful Catholic schools. Our mission is to work in communion with our parents, inspire students to pursue truth and form young men and women to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This wonderful simple mission statement says it all. Our spiritual, academic, athletic, and fine arts programs are all geared toward helping your children to be the people God intended them to be. Thank you for the gift of your children and for entrusting them to our care.

May the Lord bless you and your families this school year.

Yours in Christ,

Shana Druffner
Superintendent of Schools
